Good morning. | 00:18:19
Good morning, Chairman and Board. My name is Steve Keats. I'm in Greeley. | 00:18:21
And I'll try and make it real fast. | 00:18:26
I we know that world's not in the. | 00:18:31
It wasn't better when we were all younger. | 00:18:35
But even though their history have you, when you learn in school about the Trojan Horse. | 00:18:41
But even in this country we already had a society here and the Europeans came over. And what has the Europeans, our ancestors, | 00:18:50
done to this land as well as the society? | 00:18:57
That we almost got rid of. And now we're getting our, what they say. Politics, justice. The illegals are coming in. | 00:19:03
And and in my in New York, I saw on TV that the police were being attacked. | 00:19:14
And also I heard, I saw on TV too that some of the illegals are attacking our citizens as well. | 00:19:23
So. | 00:19:34 | |
There needs to be something and they're taking away our benefits. | 00:19:36
Housing our shelters and other benefits away from the taxpayers, the citizens. | 00:19:40
Also I can't read my writing now I. | 00:19:48
They also write Heard on TV. | 00:19:54
It was about two or three days ago that they kicked out about 120 veterans out of housing for the illegals. | 00:19:57
And I think that just really ticked me off. | 00:20:09
It's just getting worse and worse and so and we need help to house people and and and the homeless is getting worse and worse. | 00:20:13
Even around here we need answers. We need to put into action. | 00:20:24
And you know that answers and we need to house people because it makes because people need. | 00:20:31
Housing and will help the economics around here also. | 00:20:40
Transit transportation. | 00:20:47
Is important and also employment. | 00:20:49
So people can be successful, so we can have a vibrant community or communities and so people can have a quality of life. | 00:20:53
And we need answers and we need solutions and implement those solutions. | 00:21:05
And not yesterday. It needed to be about 30 years ago, but it's the last 15 years. It's getting worse and worse. | 00:21:10
And if we don't do something, implement something. | 00:21:18
We'll go down here even faster. My second thing is, Commissioner James, could you give a short report from the MPO? | 00:21:23
Happy to do so. MPO action items we took here this last Thursday, I guess is what it was. | 00:21:36
We appointed Councillor Johnny Olson from Giga Lee Mayor Will cars back from Bertha to be our Front Range passenger rail district | 00:21:44
representatives. | 00:21:49
We approve the 2024 transport program of projects. The 2020 through 2024 targets for safety were approved and a January tip | 00:21:54
amendment was approved. | 00:22:00
Plus, we heard all the usual reports that we hear at MPO. | 00:22:07
Thank you. | 00:22:12 | |
But one other thing is I'm sorry to wrap up your response. | 00:22:14
So just back to your other about homelessness and some of those situations we're in, I do want to tell you that there's some | 00:22:21
pastors working on this and they've received some pushback from various entities, but they're using RV's to house people, for | 00:22:28
example, and some of these are very nice units. So one of the things that I think we should discuss, just to put it out there and | 00:22:35
based on your inquiry, if we allowed people to stay in RV's, maybe just one per state lot or agricultural lot or R1 lot. | 00:22:43
As what's going on in East Greeley right now. | 00:22:51
I live in the paper the USA TODAY last week and in certain states or cities. | 00:23:24
That the churches are trying to help either the feed the people or let them stay in the church for a little while, but the cities | 00:23:33
are or maybe sometimes the county, whatever it is, is pushing back and not letting them do it and defining them. And that's this | 00:23:40
is what the church is for, to help others. Thank you. | 00:23:47
Thanks, Mr. Teach. Is there anybody else that wishes to come forward and share public comment? | 00:23:53
See now I'll enclose public comment and we're adjourned at 9:18 this morning and we will be back at 10:00 AM for a public | 00:24:01
hearings. Thank you very much. | 00:24:05 |
All right. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation | 00:05:51

forth and address the Board of County Commissioners, we just ask that you state your name, your address and keep your comments | 00:18:00
limited to 3 minutes as anybody wishes for public comment. Mr. Teach, please come on up. | 00:18:05
