Excuse me, business with public comment. 00:24:50
Is there anybody in the public that wishes to comment on anything to the commissioner for three minutes? It's not on our agenda. 00:24:53
Good morning. Good morning. 00:25:08
Good morning. For the record, my name is Steve Teats. I'm in Greeley. 00:25:13
First of all. 00:25:18
I'd like to know if. 00:25:21
Because few years ago I know that the county was spraying for mosquitoes and since West Nile is back, according to the news, in 00:25:23
fact what I understand that. 00:25:28
One person in Weld County already had possibly died, according to the news. Unless I misunderstood the news. 00:25:34
I just want to know if you guys are spraying. 00:25:43
So the the answer to that is no, we're not Steve and actually had that conversation with our Director of Public Health yesterday. 00:25:45
And. 00:25:53
Which means they're the ones that are just directly in your gardens and your planners around your house is what actually produces 00:26:24
the. 00:26:28
The type of mosquito that actually carries West Nile, it's kind of like, it's kind of like birds. There's million different 00:26:32
species, but there's only one very small species and it's less than it's less than 1/10 of a percent of the mosquitoes that are 00:26:38
out there that are actually carriers of West Nile. 00:26:43
OK. Thank you. And that's way more than I knew before yesterday. 00:26:49
Well, that's good to know second of all. 00:26:55
Commissioner James, is there a possibility to give us synopsis of the last? 00:26:59
MPO meeting. 00:27:06
Knowing that you would likely ask, I've prepared a response. 00:27:08
But you know, we did the usual things in our discussion items that included our 2024 through 2027 transportation improvement 00:27:13
program. 00:27:17
Our 2050 Regional Transportation Plan. 00:27:21
We heard a rather interesting presentation from Andy Karsian on the Front Range Passenger Rail District. 00:27:24
Which I believe there's gonna be perhaps a legislative effort even in the coming legislative session to remove Weld County from 00:27:32
that because the service will not even touch Weld County. 00:27:36
And uh, so yeah, it it will likely go up to 287 corridor. 00:27:40
Took action on our 2023 copper projects guidebook and our fiscal year 2022 through 2023. 00:27:46
Unified program of work product. 00:27:53
So we were busy in the planning things as one does in the planning organization. 00:27:56
Mr. Ross and I attended the stack of that morning for for us. 00:28:00
And uh, we spent. 00:28:04
Exactly 3 hours debating the RPP regional program priority, which is our most flexible part of money, and we got exactly to where 00:28:06
we were in 2019. Three hours to debate it. Same decision, but that's what we did. OK, thank you. 00:28:14
Also, do you have that information? 00:28:23
That last time I was here, you're gonna get run out so I could read it. 00:28:27
Right. Yes, Steve, I've completely forgotten about that. Can you tell me what it is you wanted and I'll get it right now. And it 00:28:32
was. I mean bring it with me because you had small print and we're gonna. 00:28:38
Ohh. 00:28:45
That that was the. 00:28:46
I was at the Front Range of passenger rail probably, yeah. 00:28:48
Let let me figure out and see if I can enlarge it for you here because I'm I've literally got it on my screen. 00:28:52
OK. 00:28:57
Also I want to congratulate you one for centuries at next year. 00:28:59
It is Is Congress here? Thank you. 00:29:06
Also, now can we really my own writing? 00:29:11
Umm. 00:29:14
Ohh yes. Also I read in the paper about Via who was helping out and I understand they have extended those more to you're talking 00:29:16
about more for people. 00:29:24
Disappears and seniors like in. 00:29:34
The sale and maybe closing and. 00:29:38
To other places, it was it was in the paper. Greenly Tribune. 00:29:42
And and so as. 00:29:48
Commissioner James in another article. 00:29:51
I just wanted to end it did say that the county was helped supporting some of that and I just want to congratulate the county for 00:29:55
doing that. It's very helpful to put these rural areas and. 00:30:01
Can you please also one other thing is your last meeting? 00:30:08
Or I should say Wednesday, August 2nd. Now that was last. Anyway, you had a bit of the cardiovascular Wellness screening. 00:30:15
From the Department of Human Resources. 00:30:26
Unfortunately I wasn't here, so I'd like to know what that entails. 00:30:29
Go ahead Chris, Every year we pick a different department around the county and as part of our health and Wellness program as we 00:30:34
try and. 00:30:39
Make people healthier. Help people begin more healthier and the county they go through this cardiovascular test. It includes 00:30:44
several things. You go over to Fort Collins and they run a series of fluids through as they shoot you through an MRI machine 00:30:51
checking for any blockages or any calcium buildups inside your arteries. And they do a stress test on you and see the overall 00:30:57
strength of your cardiovascular system and you meet with the dietitian that. 00:31:04
Breaks down things that you specifically could do to improve. 00:31:11
Uh, your health and and exercise and such to that. So we rotate that around various parts of the county every year so that we can 00:31:16
improve our health, which actually brings down the cost of our health insurance. So it's, it's paid off. And folks, we've got many 00:31:22
individuals on the cusp of heart attacks in the past and quite frankly, I'd say it probably saved their lives. So that's good to 00:31:28
know. Thank you. And actually the commissioners, you did that in 20-20, you, Mr. Marino and I actually learned that we actually 00:31:34
have a. 00:31:40
But. 00:31:46
Hold on. Alright, I I knew real good. Deal. 00:31:49
Thank you very much so. 00:31:54
So, you know, through public comment. 00:31:57
No. OK. Seeing no further business will adjourn. We'll be back at 10:00 for land use cases. Thanks everybody. 00:32:00
